DAYLE GRAY JOINS THE PRINCESS PATS Dayle Gray, the 17-year old son of Jim and Winnie Gray, is now a member of Canada's permanent army. Early last month he enlisted with the famous Princess Pats Light Infantry, and for the next 17 weeks will be stationed in Edmonton for basic training.

Earlier this month, CBC-TV ran a documentary by American filmmaker Scott Kesterson about the Princess Pats in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban, back in 2006.

This year is the centennial of the Princess Pats and the regiment plans to mark it, and the 100th anniversary of the First World War, with a Memorial Baton Relay, stopping at 23 Canadian locations over 39 days.
